Johnson Omolo, President Africa Golf Confederation

Africa has chosen continuity and vision with the successful re-election of Johnson Omolo as president of the Africa Golf Confederation (AGC).

Omolo was re-elected unopposed by 31 member countries, in an election officially endorsed by The R&A, world golf’s governing body.

The re-election took place during the All Africa Team Championship at La Foret Golf Course, La Soukra – the biggest All Africa Team Championship (AATC) in history with 17 nations competing.

Delegates described Omolo as Africa’s new visionary leader, crediting his 18 months of quiet shuttle sport diplomacy across all regions of Africa which rallied the continent around the principle of Africa as a sovereign continent that must champion Pan-Africanism.

We shall immediately embark on operationalisation of our newly signed memorandum with the Arab golf federation headquartered in Riyadh saudi. This partnership will open doors for Africa with technical support for coaches and referees exchange, inter continental championship and junior and ladies golf development in the medium to long term.
