URA Ladies FC suffered a painful late defeat after Lady Doves scored in the 94th minute to claim a 1-0 victory in the 2026/27 FUFA Women’s Super League at Katusabe Dove Playground in Masindi on Sunday evening.

Sumaya Nsisi struck deep into added time to deny URA Ladies a point and leave them with their second defeat of the season. For Lady Doves, the late winner was a reward for their persistence in a tightly contested encounter.

Coming off the international break, URA Ladies had hoped to return to action with a positive result. Instead, they left Masindi empty-handed after failing to make the most of their chances.

Their best opportunity in the first half fell to Elizabeth Nakigozi in the 18th minute. With only the goalkeeper to beat, she missed the chance to put the visitors ahead.

Six minutes later, goalkeeper Haira Nabbosa went down after colliding with an opponent and received medical attention. The injury forced URA Ladies into an early change, with Ashley Nakabugo replacing her in the 28th minute.

Neither side managed to break the deadlock before half-time, with the teams going into the break at 0-0.

The game remained tight after the restart, although URA Ladies’ Lydia Nyandera picked up the first booking of the match in the 52nd minute for a foul on an opponent.

With the breakthrough still elusive, URA Ladies made another change in the 74th minute, bringing on Monica Nanono for Cynthia Kirenga as they searched for a goal.

However, just when a draw looked likely, Nsisi found the net in the fourth minute of added time to hand Lady Doves all three points.

Rose Bamaniriza was named Player of the Match following the hosts’ hard-earned victory.

The result lifts Lady Doves to seventh place with four points, while URA Ladies remain ninth on three points.

Lady Doves will travel to Nsibirwa Grounds to face Makerere University on Sunday, October 25, while URA Ladies host Rines SS WFC at Hamz Stadium on the same day.
