The Rotary District 9214 and Rotaract District 9214 has organized a day-long football gala meant to end the scourge of Polio.
The championship is code-named “Kick Polio Out” and will take place on Saturday, 24th October 2026 at the Soccer Planet Namulanda Turf.
It will be a great day of fun, interaction (networking) and merry-making with a bold cause of securing a Polio free world.

The different Rotary Clubs of Entebbe, Kitende, Garuga, Seguku, Nalumunye, Namasuba, Bwebajja, Kitende Breeze, Medical Stars, Bwerenga, Akright City, Nalumunye Heights, Mutundwe, Nalumunye Katale and Bwebajja Mid City are confirmed.
The Rotaract clubs include Bwebajja, Entebbe Airport, Nalumunye, Garuga and Bwerenga.
As early as 8 AM, the different teams will gather at Centenary Bank (Kawuku) for a massive immunization drive.
There will be prizes to the top performing teams and individuals.
The sponsors include Zora Water and Newmans, among others.
For now four decades, Rotary has fronted the cause to fight Polio with massive vaccination efforts to help block paralysis in an estimated 20 million people who might otherwise have been affected.
Rotary has also lobbied Government and encouraged donors to keep Polio on the agenda.
After 40+ years, Rotary along with our partners, have reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent worldwide since World Health Organization’s first project to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979.
Rotarians have also helped immunize more than 2.5 billion children against polio in 122 countries. For as little as $3.00, a child can be protected against this crippling disease for life.
Rotary International pledged to raise US$50 million towards polio.
When we eradicate polio – and we will – we will have proved ourselves an organization capable of great things. We’ll have given the world a gift that will endure forever.
