KOBs RFC will not play their return home fixture against Kenya’s KCB Rugby after the visitors cancelled the trip to Kampala.

The cancellation follows international and regional travel advisories issued against Uganda due to the health concerns surrounding Ebola.

The KOBs and KCB Rugby solidarity series had successfully started with the Naguru side crossing the border to play their Kenyan counterparts but losing 39-08  at the end of the 80 minutes.

This Saturday, October 24, KOBs was meant to host KCB Rugby, but the club chairman Darren Rutagwera communicated to the club membership that the visitors wouldn’t make the trip.

“KOBs remains fully prepared and committed to honouring this fixture, and we had and have every intention of proceeding as scheduled. While we are disappointed by the decision to postpone the match, we respect the outcome and remain committed to the KCB Rugby Series,” Rutagwera reassured the members.

The internal statement further noted that both clubs are in the process of setting a new date for this fixture.

The KOBs now turn their attention to the Uganda Cup, where they are automatically through to the Round of 16 as they wait for the winner between the Gulu City Falcons and Mukono Hawks.
