The National Sports Officers Association (NASOA) in conjunction with the Ministry of Education and Sports will hold the national capacity building training between 9th and 13th November 2026 at the Hoima Resort Hotel in Hoima city.
Here, the sports officers from across the country will convene to discuss about the present and future times of this association that is key in the implementation of physical education and sports through talent identification and development at grassroots level.

One of the key activities during this capacity building will be the election of the new executive committee for the tenure 2026 to 2030.
Among the candidates eyeing the president’s seat is experienced sports administrator Brian Charles “Omutegeke” Ssenyonga, a holder of master’s in public administration (UMI), Post Graduate Diploma in Education leadership and management (UMI) and Bachelor in sport science (Makerere University) with an upcoming Masters in Sport and Exercise Science (Makerere University).

Ssenyonga comes forth with a rich CV in leadership and vast experience having served in different fort-folios as a member of the finance committee on the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC), treasurer of Uganda Table Tennis Association (UTTA), head of sports pillar in the Former Footballers’ Initiative (FFI) and the NASOA executive committee as Vice president Technical.
Ssenyonga also diligently serves as the sports officer, Wakiso District and operates on the St Henry’s Kitovu (SHACK) and Kabojja Sports Board.
Such is the enviable profile of a leader who aspires to take over the leadership of the National Sports Officers’ Association (NASOA).

His agenda is curtailed on shrewd service, integrity, accountability, professionalism, brand strengthening and advocacy, members’ unity, partnership & resource mobilization, resource mobilization as well as hands-on action.
My vision is to a build a united, trusted, professionally respected and highly visible NASOA that protects the interests of sports officers. One, that strengthens their capacity and gives them a meaningful voice in the development of sport in Uganda. This vision is practical and not just words. A united association where every sports officer from district, city, municipality feels he belongs and is valued. Gaps in sports organization require experienced networked leadership to deliver lasting solutions. Due to my extensive background in sports management, I possess the technical expertise, strategic foresight and relationships necessary to turn these operational challenges into long term success.
Brian Charles “Omutegeke” Ssenyonga, Wakiso District Sports Officer
