The 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League officially got underway on Sunday with two exciting games in Group A. Host club FC Masar and two-time winners Mamelodi Sundowns played out a goalless draw while Morocco’s FUS Rabat and Cameroon’s Lekié had a similar result.

FC Masar, representing Egypt, put up a remarkable performance to hold Sundowns in a closely contested encounter at the Suez Canal Stadium.

The results leave Group A wide open ahead of matchday two games where Sundowns face Lekié on Wednesday, while Masar will meet FUS Rabat in the other Group A fixture on the same day.

It should be noted that the top two teams from each group advance to the semifinals.

Action continues on Monday with Uganda’s representatives Kawempe Muslim making their debut at the tournament against defending Champions AS FAR from Morocco at 3 PM EAT, while USFAS Bamako from Mali will face Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa.
