  • Police 1-1 Kitara

Police FC came from behind to earn a point against Kitara FC in a one-all draw in the Uganda Premier League encounter at Kira Police Arena on Tuesday.

The Cops continue to work on their shortcomings following a humiliating 6-1 defeat to SC Villa in their previous outing.

Police were without head coach Matia Lule, who was absent on the day, leaving assistant coach Ahmad Olima to take charge of the team.

Kitara made a bright start and broke the deadlock in the 10th minute through Gadafi Wahab, who calmly guided the ball into the back of the net.

The hosts nearly doubled their advantage in the 23rd minute when Jemba Ramsey tested goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige from distance, but the custodian reacted well to parry the effort behind for a corner.

Moments later, Biafula Muhammade delivered a well-curled corner kick that struck the frame of the goal before Police managed to clear their lines.

The second half proved to be a cagey affair, with both sides struggling to establish rhythm in a fiercely contested and physical encounter.

However, Police eventually found their way back into the game when Bedia Ikamba levelled matters, connecting with Tabu Oryem’s delivery, which caused problems for the Kitara backline.

Neither side could find a winner as the spoils were shared at Kira.

The draw leaves Police sixth on the league table with 15 points from 10 matches, while Kitara occupy eighth place with 12 points from six games.
