Andrew Ssekibejja took the opening-day bragging rights as the Entebbe Pro Open teed off at Entebbe Golf Club on Tuesday, November 3.
Ssekibejja returned a 3-under 68 littered with seven birdies (on holes 4, 7, 8, 13, 15, 17, and 18) and as many even scores, but scratched on four holes with bogeys.

The Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa golfer’s start to the first round was far from perfect. Ssekibejja played even on the first two holes but bogeyed par-4 hole 3 before bouncing back with a birdie on 4. He scratched on 5 with another bogey, but completed the front nine a shot under.
The back nine started with bogeys on par-3 holes 10 and 12, but after that, he was flawless.

Herman Mutawe, who hit an impressive eagle on par-5 hole 18, is one stroke behind Ssekibejja with a 2-under 69.
Davis Kato and Bulhan Matovu are tied for third with a 1-under 70.

Six golfers were tied for fifth with a 1-over 72. These are Canary Kabise, Abraham Ainamani, Tom Jjingo, Marvin Kibirige, Grace Kasango and Kenyan Daniel Nduva.
The four-day event continues with Round 2 on Wednesday, November 4, as pros look to get into the money bracket for a share of the 36 million shillings prize kitty from Stanbic Bank.
