Kawempe Muslim will be seeking to secure a spot in the semifinals of the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League as they face Ghana’s outfit Ampem Darkoa on Thursday, November 5 at 6:00 p.m., EAT.

The two teams come into this Group B contest level on points, having won their respective opening games on Monday. Kawempe Muslim edged defending Champions ASFAR 3-2, while Ampem Darkoa were 5-1 winners over USFAS Bamako.

Therefore, whoever wins today will earn a place in the last four, and it is what Kawempe Muslim head coach Ayub Khalifa is targeting.

“We had a dream start, but that is behind us now, and we can only use it as motivation ahead of our next game. Ampem Darkoa is a good side, and we respect them, but we know that victory against them will see us advance to the semifinals and our target therefore is to win this game,” he said.

Kawempe stunned ASFAR, thanks to second-half goals from Agnes Nabukenya (brace) and Shakirah Nyinagahirwa.

The Valley Warriors will once again be banking on their attack that also has Latifa Nakasi to try and look for goals.

On the other end, Khalifa believes the team needs to defend better and avoid conceding cheap goals.

“Our biggest area of concern has been the way we defend, and we have tried to address it from our previous game. I believe there will be an improvement.”

After today’s game, Kawempe Muslim’s will return to action on Sunday for their final group game against USFAS Bamako, while Ampem Darkoa will be up against ASFAR on the same day.
