The FMU management committee has appointed motocross rider Barak Orland as the deputy vice president in charge of motorcycling.
The position was in the interim held by the federation general secretary Joseph Mwangala.
The reigning MX veteran champion is only awaiting approval by the Annual General Meeting due this Saturday.
Orland has vast experience in motocross. He is also the current champion of the veterans class.
Speaking to Kawowo Sports, Orland expressed appreciation for the consideration to take on an administrative role.
“I was told about the appointment yesterday (Wednesday). And I think am ready for the role having gained a lot of experience as a rider. I will be glad to add something adminsitratively,” he said.
However, Orland must relinquish his competition license if he is to serve in the position.

“Of course, my license was withdrawn after the appointment. It is now time to devote to administrative roles. I am sure we shall develop the sport with the help of all other stakeholders,” he emphasized.
FMU constitution says that a member of an Executive Committee must not be an active competitor.

I know this will be approved, Cong’s Mr barak.
Greatness from God all in all praise be to God
