Handicap four lady golfer Irene Nakalembe shocked the entire field and possibly herself inclusive when she struck an incredible 3-under par 68 during the closing round of the 2021 Entebbe Ladies Golf Open on 6th March 2021.
The score not only bettered the dismissal 8-over par 79 but also enabled the long hitting golfer to retain the Entebbe Ladies Golf Open title for the 7th time in a row.
Over 36 holes, she amassed a combined gross score of 147 (5-over par), a big improvement of 11 strokes.

It feels good to come from behind and emerge winner. However, I didn’t intend to come from behind, I just had a bad start but thank God I was able to recover very well. I had her (Babirye) in my mind ahead of the final round and I am grateful that I was able to do very well.

Nakalembe scored a total of 7 birdies in 36 holes, one coming on day one and the six on the subsequent round.

Reigning Uganda Open Ladies Open champion Martha Babirye took the day one famous bragging rights with 1-over par 72, 7 strokes drift from Nakalembe.
During the closing round, Babirye played 6-over 77 for a combined 7-over par 149 and take the runners’up slot.

Evah Magala was third with 8-over par 150 off 36 holes.

Respective winners and podium finishers received prizes and goodie bags from the tournament sponsors; Britam Insurance, Roke Telkom, NCBA Bank, Gately on Nile and Uganda Airlines.
Nakalembe received an air ticket from Uganda Airlines, accommodation voucher from Gately on Nile among other goodies from other sponsors.
