The Uganda Youth Football Association (UYFA) released their 2022 activity calendar.

The crowded calendar of activities was officially let public after the youth football body’s 19th Executive Committee meeting at Kenendia Hotel, Katwe in Kampala Region on Friday, 28th January 2022.

The activity calendar was one of the deliberations from that crucial meeting chaired by Roberts Kiwanuka.

The month of February will witness the launch of the data base via the UYFA connect, release of UYFA competitions rules, marketing strategic planning and the UYFA national Invitational championship (U-16 for Boys and Girls).

March has the sub-committee virtual meetings, UYFA players screening and licensing as well as the release of UYFA communication code.

April

In April, there shall be the UYFA quarterly press breakfast gathering, academy CEOs’ Summit (Regions), UYFA Futsal Gala (U13 Boys & Girls) and the Youth Beach Soccer Gala (U13 Boys & Girls).

May

The month of May 2022 will curtail the UYFA national challenge cup regional qualifiers (U13 Boys & Girls) whose finals will come later in September.

Then, there shall be the UYFA Executive members retreat and the second schedule of the UYFA Executive meeting.

June

After a two-year pause (due to the Coronavirus pandemic), the FUFA Odilo Primary Schools Tournament will return in June 2022.

During the same month, there shall be a course in Football Administration and Management (FAMACO) and a UYFA Beach Soccer Course.

July

July 2022 has UYFA Youth Referees Course, UYFA Futsal Gala (U15 Boys & Girls) as well as the UYFA Beach Soccer Gala (U15 Boys & Girls)

August

The second UYFA quarterly breakfast press gathering shall be in August 2022.

In the same month, there will be the UYFA Regional/Sub Regional League (2 Weeks Gala) U15 Boys & Girls, selection of regional youth teams as well as piloting the UYFA national challenge cup (U13 Boys & Girls).

September

UYFA plans an outreach session in the North East region during the month of September, the annual general assembly for UYFA, piloting 11B Kids League and the futsal training course.

October

There shall be the submission of soccer camps requests, national and regional coordinators retreat, a FUFA Beginners coaching course and a CAF D Diploma coaching course.

November

As the year end, UYFA will execute different academy visits in November 2022 as well the official launch of the UYFA Regional teams Championship with the finals expected in December 2022.

December

The 12th month of the year will see the last UYFA quarterly press breakfast gathering, coaches exchange clinic launch and the UYFA Regional Teams Championship (National)

Meanwhile, the same executive committee passed in the affirmative the approval of new member academies, those pending as well as others that successfully applied for change of names.

In total, 24 member academies were admitted with six left pending for different reasons.

Pending:

Six academies were left in pending mode as they are monitored.

Two academies were allowed to changed names. Free-kick soccer academy moulted from Uganda Support Soccer Academy.

In the same vein, Next Generation Soccer Academy was permitted to change from Kireka Soccer Academy.

Meanwhile, the executive body request Walugembe Memo Snipers requested to change their name.

At the same time, Lugazi Soccer Academy and Mentor International Sports Academy were also accepted back following years without subscription.

The executive body also resolved that no academy will go across borders to take part in international competition (s) without a letter from the UYFA, FUFA and National Council of Sports (NCS).
