Before a final game of any championship, different preparations are executed by personalities and the teams in the box.
There are just a few days left to the long-anticipated finale between Buwekula and Buddu at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende and the two sides are in the final touches before the showdown.
From build-up games, these two teams have also fine-tuned their respective squads with tactics for strategy and approach.
Buweekula’s latest build-up game was a 3-2 home win over Bulemeezi in Mubende on Sunday, 27th February 2022.
Bernard Alijuna, Kenneth Kimera, and skipper Shafic Kakande scored for Buwekula.
Bernardo Kateregga netted a brace for Bulemeezi team.
Before this game, the team received blessings during a church service at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Mubende.
Besides the two fundraising dinners held in Mubende and Kampala (at SS Hotel – Makerere), the team has also managed to mobilize financial resources from individual personalities, well-wishers, and companies such as Minyaalo Tyre world and GTC Cargo, among others.
Joseph Kyambadde, the technical director at Buwekula is humbled for the support from sponsors and well-wishers as a way of preparing the players for the final.
“I am indebted to the support the sponsors as Minyaalo Tyre World, SS Hotel – Makerere, GTC Cargo, and the individuals from Buwekula have given to the team as we prepare for the final against Buddu,” Kyambadde revealed.
Buwekula is coached by Frank Mulindwa and is deputized by Prince Geofrey Juuko.
The team is eyeing their first-ever trophy since the Masaza Cup tournament resumed in 2004.
Meanwhile, the minister of Sports, Leisure, and Recreation in the Buganda Kingdom Henry Moses Ssekabembe Kiberu officially announced the release of tickets onto the market.
Ssekabembe addressed the media at Bulange gardens in Mengo, Kampala on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.
Selling points
The Kampala-based selling places are at Majestic Brand (Bulange, Mengo), Owino Market, Bwaise Total, Mandela City Tyres, Kiseka market, Total stations at Bwaise, Nakivubo, Namasuba 1 & 2, Kitende, Mengo, and the national theatre.
Other selling points include Trevels Hotel, Airtel shop in Mubende, Mubende FM, Heart FM, and Tropical FM.
The ticket selling points in Masaka are at Shell Masaka, Total Masaka and CBS-Masaka.
Entry fees are fixed at 20,000/= for the fans in the general stands and Shs. 50,000/= for the VIPs.
Buddu is seeking their second title since the 2016 victory.
UNAIDS, Nabagereka Development Foundation, Centenary Bank, and Airtel Uganda (main sponsors) co-fund this championship that bars Uganda Premier League, FUFA Big League, and national team players.
Twisted event is in charge of the organization of this final.
