Fide master Elijah Emojong recovered from a second round defeat to International Master Nigerian Olape Olubunmi on Sunday and defeated Ghana’s Kwadwo Bonsu in the third round of the ongoing Zone 4.2 Africa Chess Championships in Abuja, Nigeria today.
Emojong, who defeated a Sudanese opponent in the first round now has two points and takes on Nigeria”s Emmanuel
Maduagwuna in the fourth round tomorrow.
Another Ugandan Christine Namaganda lost her first round game to Egypt’s Wafa Shrook beat Doris Adebayo from Nigeria in third round too.
She had beaten Nigeria’s Racheal Dappa in the second round.
Namaganda takes on another Nigerian Nsisong Asang in the fourth round tomorrow.
