MEHTA PREMIER LEAGUE FIXTURES

Charity vs. Tornado – Lugogo

Gayaza High vs. JACC – Kyambogo

After a month of no action to pave way for the Kenya-Uganda series that ended six days back, defending champions Charity Trust Fund will resume their title defence with two games against Tornado in the T20 Mehta Premier League on Saturday at Lugogo oval.
Both sides started the campaign with double wins five weeks ago and have gathered 12 points each hence,

none can afford to stutter. “We need to score runs and field well,” Charity skipper Flavia Laker told Kawowo Sports.

“After the Kenya tour last week, most of my players have rested and are now fresh for the encounter.” Laker, whose side will do without opening batter Barbara Mukankusi (tight academic schedule) during the morning game, added.

But while Charity holds the upper hand, Tornado, who are top with better net run rate of 4.152 looks unphased. “We know they are a decent team but nothing to worry about,” Franklyn Najjumba, a senior player said.

“Our team will give it the best shot.” captain Concy Aweko chipped in. Tornado will also work less sick Racheal Bedayika and Carol Ayiya who is out just like Mukankusi.

At the University oval in Kyambogo, JACC ladies (with three points from four games) will want to avoid a third consecutive loss when they play bottom side Gayaza High (0).
