Ibrahim’s Sekagya’s chances of playing in the UEFA champions league group stages this season where dashed painfully yesterday when his side Red Bull Salzburg crushed out to Luxemborg’s Dudelange on away goals rule after settling for a 4-4 draw at the Salzburg Arena.
The home side fell early with Thierry Steinmetz giving the visitors the lead in the 26 minute. The hosts then replied with quick-fire goals from
Jakob Jantscher and Martin Hinteregger to take the lead,but Dudelange clawed back with goals from Steinmetz and Aurelien Joachim to push them in-front again.
Two goals by Cristiano and Gonzalo Zarate gave the Austrian Bundesliga champions hope of turning the tie late,but all that was in vain as they won the tie 4-3, ending the tie with the aggregate score of 4-all and kicking them out on the painful away goals rule however they will be redeemed by playing in the next stage of the UEFA Europa league.
Sekagya was unused substitute in the home tie.
