Kibuli Secondary School won the boys’ team event as Mbogo High School was triumphant in the girl’s category during the 2022 Africa schools’ Badminton championship in Rose Hill city, Mauritius.

The Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) has voted the Kibuli Secondary School and Mbogo High School Badminton teams as the outstanding sports personalities for the month of December 2022.
This was confirmed during the first assembly of the year held at Imperial Royale Hotel, Kampala on Monday, January 16, 2023.
Kibuli Secondary School won the boys’ team event as Mbogo High School was triumphant in the girl’s category during the 2022 Africa schools’ Badminton championship in Rose Hill city, Mauritius.
Kibuli SS’ team was composed of Samuel Wasswa, Akbar Nooh Oduka, Ahmed Nooh Oduka and Aaron Ndawula with Joshua Muguluma as head coach.
Mbogo High School’s triumphant girls’ team had Nazifah Nakiyemba, Sharifa Mbabazi and Swabra Nanyombi with William Kabindi as head coach.
The two schools accumulated a total of 235 points, ahead of Ndejje University (210 points) and the Uganda Motocross Team (205 points).
Ndejje University optimally utilized their home advantage to win the 7th consecutive East Africa University Games title.
Meanwhile, the Uganda Motocross team clinched the East and Central African title in Nairobi city, Kenya.
The USPA members were also taken through an educative session in the rugby sport by Saudah Adiru Jamilah.
Members also deliberated upon their internal issues, commending the respective media houses for the work undertaken.
