Uganda’s representatives URA FC has been drawn along side last year’s finalists Tanzania’s Simba SC, guests Vita Club from DR. Congo and Ports FC from Djibouti in group A ahead of the forth coming CECAFA club championships scheduled to take place between 14th July and 27th July in Dar es Salam, Tanzania.

Group B contains Kenyan giants Tusker FC, Azam FC of Tanzania and Zanzibar’s Mafunzo FC. Newcomers Wau Salam from South Sudan have been drawn in group C that also has defending champions Yanga FC from Tanzania, Atletico from Burundi and APR FC of Rwanda.

The tax collectors have never won this title but look prepared to change the odds this time round after beefing up their squad with recruits Yayo Lutimba, Erisha Ssekisambu from Express FC and will soon land Yasin Mugabi from Proline FC.

The opening game is between Yanga FC (Tanzania) and Wau Salam (South Sudan). All games will be played at the national stadium apart from the Mafunzo – Azam that will be played at Azam’s home ground.

Two top teams from each group qualify for the quarter finals and will be joined by best loser from either group “A” or “C”.

Group A: Simba SC (TZ), URA FC (Uganda), Vita Club (DR. Congo), Ports (Djibouti).

Group B: Tuskers FC (Kenya), Azam (Tz), Mafunzo (Zanzibar).

Group C: Yanga FC (Tz), Atletico (Burundi), APR FC (Rwanda), Wau Salam (South Sudan).
