
SC VILLA 4-2 VICTORS FC. A brace from Herman Wasswa and Steven Bengo was enough for SC
Villa to dismantle visiting Victors FC in a league game played this afternoon at Nakivubo stadium. The blues took an early lead through Steven Bengo well taken penalty after Julius Isabirye had fouled the shirt 10 in the forbidden area.
The visitors however replied in the 35thminute when Isaac Ntege slotted home after a well laid ball by Robert Lugolobi. Herman Wasswa restored Villa’s lead six minutes later to help the hosts end the first half on top.
After recess, the former Masaka LC FC striker extended Villa’s lead when he beat Victors FC offside trap to slot home from Isaac Kirabira well laid through ball. At this moment, it was Villa in control of proceedings with Herman Wasswa and Steven Bengo dismantling the Jinja based side’s rear guard with both trickery and pace.
Minutes later, the dominance resulted into goal as Wasswa again used his pace to trouble right back Robert Lugolobi before passing to Bengo who was well positioned on the edge of the 18 yard box. The midfielder did no mistake but put the hosts lead beyond reach when his shot hit the post before settling into the back of the net.
It signaled game over for the hosts but they continued to press Mike Mutebi’s side and got another goal through Obeid Mayanja with four minutes left to play which Villa contained to run away with maximum points.
The win lifts SC Villa to fifth on the 16 team log on 46 points while Victors stay 12th on 34 points.
