Daily Monitor’s sports editor Mark Namanya will remain Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) president for the next two years. Namanya, who assumed office on October 23, 2010, was unopposed in the USPA elective annual general meeting held at Oasis Restaurant in Lugogo on Saturday since no other candidate filed to run against him.

Namanya had reclaimed his seat back having attained office two years ago and he plans to concentrate on consolidating on his goals. “USPA must as always promote sports journalism in a transparent way to enhance the spirit of unity and brotherhood.” he said. This will be Namanya’s last term in office since the USPA constitution gives its executive members a period not exceeding two terms in the same office.

Robert Magembe (45 votes) took the treasurer’s post after beating Moses Kiwanuka (24 votes). Former acting organizing secretary Mubarak kasule fully attained the post after he scooped 45 votes than Kenneth Arereng’s 23 votes.
