Junior golfers Judith Komugisha and Julius Kasuga won the Uganda Ladies Golf Union Fiddle Junior Golf tournament at the par 72 Uganda Golf Club on Friday at the Kitante golf course.

15 year old Komugisha, who is poised to be the new prodigy in girl’s golf returned with a score of 68 nett and a gross scoreof 92 to claim the tournament and at the same beat 10 girl golfers.

The tournament is part of the ULGU holiday golf clinic that has been going on at the Uganda Golf Club and has attracted 150 junior golfers. Kasuga beat 12 boy golfers to return with a score of 63 gross.

In category B Ceasor Mulenga beat 8 junior golfers to win the four holes competition with 52 gross while the Skills test was won by Jake Kagaba and Sharom Abigal with 42 and 45 points respectively.

Four American professional golfers played alongside the junior golfers including Tracy Hanson, who has played on the Ladies Professional Golf Association circuit. “I am impressed with the number of kids and its great that their being given a chance to play the sport which is not so popular,” Hanson said. “The ULGU is doing a good job introducing the kids to the sport.”
