Uganda’s Sharif Bukenya never lived the pre-match talk of felling to the canvas Jarkko Jussila in the 5th round, instead he turned out to be the hunter being hunted, the world’s number 10 in the welter weight category finished out the Ugandan in the 4th round.
Perhaps, the 26 year old Ugandan, who lost his maiden kick boxing fight has attributed his loss to ill preparedness. In fact, by the second round the partisan lively crowd that turned at Freedom City, had premeditated the winner as Bukenya kissed the Canvas twice.
“I lacked Stamina and endurance, which my opponent had”, a weary Bukenya told Kawowo Sports after the fight umpired by the World Kick boxing Executive Director, Fritz Exenberger.
Jarkko, the new world welterweight champion was very excited with the new title that also stands a chance to improve his world rankings. “Uganda is a beautiful country, i came to win and i have made it”, the technically gifted Finnish star said.
Uganda’s consolation however was the victory of Abu Kikenwa, who beat another Finnish star, Shamil Seifulla in the major under card fight.
Other undercard results were:
