Jomayi Property sponsored Ronald Ssebuguzi in a Mitsubishi Evo9 emerged winner of the Freedom City Challenge Rally over the weekend beating reigning national champion Jas Mangat and Ponsiano Lwakataka who finished second and third respectively.
Ssebuguzi finished the 387.76km event in one hour, 20 minutes and 57 seconds, while second placed Jas Mangat finished three minutes later. Lwakataka famously known as “Mafu Mafu” by his fans came third in 01:23:50.
Duncan ‘Kikankane’ Mubiru, in a Subaru N12B, was fourth ahead of Rwanda-based Christakis Fitidis. Arthur Blick, who quit competitive motocross last year to join Motorsport, came sixth.
The two-day event that started with a sprint in Entebbe before moving to Wobulenzi kept fans on their toes with excitement and drama.
Despite finishing third, Lwakataka remains on top of the National Rally Championship standings with 160 points followed by Fitidis who finished fifth on 120 points while Duncan Mubiru is third with 110pts.
