Stephen Kiprotich is yet to settle down ever since his return from Moscow’s World Athletics Championships on Tuesday. The World and Olympic marathon king is not even about to stop hovering around.
Kiprotich, who stunned the world to claim the 42km marathon gold in Moscow last Saturday, will flag off runners at the Rotary Cancer Run at Kololo Independence Grounds, according to programme organiser Fred Masadde.
Rotarians in Uganda are partnering with USPA, Centenary Bank and Crown Beverages Limited through its flagship brand Pepsi, to raise money for the construction of a cancer ward at Nsambya hospital. The bank has already footed 30% (Shs283m) of the total project cost and injected Shs48m in organisation of other cancer awareness support activities that will be carried out over a period of three years.
Speaker of Parliament Hon. Rebecca Kadaga will be the chief runner where notable sportsmen like golfers Deo Akope and Flavia Namakula are expected to take part.
