A number of professional golfers from the different clubs in Uganda as Deo Akope, Becca Mwanja, Ronald Rugumayo, Davis Kato, Deco Mutebi, Adolf Muhumuza, Gaita Rodell, Grace Kasango, Opio Onito, Silver Opio, Hussein Bagalana, Abraham Ainamani, Evah Magala, Irene Nakalembe, Flavia Namakula, David Kamulindwa, Lawrence Muhenda, and others are expected to register for this tournament.

Theme: “Men leading the fight against HIV/AIDS to save the girl child”
As part of the 31st Kabaka Coronation anniversary activities, the Kingdom of Buganda has organized different activities.
Among these will be a fully packaged golf championship at the par-72 Uganda Golf Club in Kitante, Kampala.
For the first time ever, the professional players, caddies as well as children and their parents will be fully engaged.
The professionals will swing into action on the 25th July and climax on the next day 26th July 2024, covering 36 holes.

At stake is the prestigious Kabaka Green Jacket and a total kitty of Ug.Shs 13,000,000.
This was confirmed during a press briefing held at Bulange, Mengo on Tuesday, 11th June 2024 as the Buganda Kingdom minister of sports, youth and the arts Owek. Ssalongo Robert Sserwanga confirmed the main committee of seven members that will steer the entire organization of the 31st Kabaka coronation anniversary golf tournament.
“The professionals this time round will also play. There is the Kabaka Green Jacket that will be given to the winner and their package is Ug.Shs 13M.” Minister Owek. Sserwanga stated.

The professional golfers will utilize this tournament to further harness their skills ahead of the upcoming championships including the Uganda Open at Entebbe club later this year.

Before the professionals, the parents and children event will have been played on Sunday, 21st July 2024 as well as the caddies on Monday, 22nd July 2024.
The series will climax on Saturday, 27th July 2024 with the main champions that will have all the amateur golfers in action; gross and bigger handicap players for both gender.
Organizing committee:
Sam Lugonvu Mubiru, the captain of Buganda Golfers Association (BUGA) is part of the 7-man organizing committee that has powers to co-opt other members.
The other members are; David Ssekitoleko (the manager of Uganda Golf Club), former captain of Uganda Golf Club Emmanuel Wamala, female golf professional Evah Magala, Gertrude Kityo, seasoned events’ organizer Paul Kaheru and the Buganda Kingdom Principal Sports Officer, Hannington Musoke.

The theme of the tournament is men taking the lead in the fight against HIV/AIDS to protect the girl child.
The tournament will have at least 500 golfers through all the series.
