Heaters 64-74 Dmark Power
Gladiators 34-97 UCU Lady Canons

A pretty physical and desperate game between sides with directly opposite records and with survival implications came down to the final couple of minutes.

Dmark Power needed a pair of 3-pointers from Ben Komakech and one from Norman Blick to put away resilient Proline Heaters who are fighting relegation.

After taking the first quarter, Heaters (2-15) were not far behind until the final two minutes of the fourth quarter when Power’s passing got Komaketch and Blick open at nearly the same spot to knock down 3-balls that cooled off Heaters.

Joseph Ikong scored game high 21 points for Power (15-2). Kamakech added 20 points and Blick had 11. Isaac afidra grabbed game high 14 rebounds to go with his 9 points.

Guards, Tony Olila and Adam Kakuru led Heaters with 15 and 14 points respectively. Foward, Omar Farouk added 10 points and Javan Odhiambo scored 9 points and picked 10 rebounds

With Heaters still to play Ndejje, Oilers, Warriors, Eagles and Falcons to complete their regular season schedule, the route to survival is rough – atleast on paper.

Meanwhile in the women’s division, UCU’s starting front court combined for 77 points as they blew out Gladiators 97-34 to maintain their perfect record.

Purity Odhiambo scored season high 33 points, Peace Proscovia added 29 points and Verginia Awino contributed 15 points for Lady Canons (16-0). Moreen Amoding had 12 points.

Gladiators (3-13) suffered their second biggest loss of the season the other came against the same opponents. Brendah Aujat scored 8 points to lead Gladiator. Joan Muchiruku added 7 points while Joan Birungi and Charline Kirungi contributed 6 points apiece.
