The 2024 Rugby Africa Men’s Cup will be played at Mandela National Stadium Namboole and Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku.

Emmanuel Fudribo Drama, the chairperson of the tournament’s local organising committee, confirmed the development while speaking on a Twitter/X Space hosted by the Uganda Rugby Union (URU) on Wednesday night.

“The structure of the venues is that the opening day will be at Namboole, then the second last day (Wednesday) will be played at Wankulukuku and we shall return to Namboole on Sunday for the final,” Fudribo said on the space.

Although Namboole and Wankulukuku are predominantly football venues in Uganda, this will not be the first time rugby is played there.

Namboole hosted a national 7s circuit that was won by KOBs in 2010 and Wankulukuku hosted the Rugby Africa Women’s Cup (Pool B) which Kenya dominated two years ago.

Fudribo stated that both facilities will be ready to host the 2024 Rugby Africa Men’s Cup when it kicks off next Saturday.

The tournament will be played following a straight knockout format from the quarterfinal stage.
