The old school adage “Tough times meet tough people” could best be justified upon having that special one – on – one encounter Ronald ‘Ali’ Kizito one breed of the brilliant brand of the many pool players in the country.

Kizito is one unfortunate gentleman who has lived all the years of his life having not seen the mother. The toddler then was fortunate to survive as the mother died at birth.

“I have lived by the grace by God because I only knew my father, who also died years later”, he emotionally says this time with teary eyes.

Early Kampala Life:

Kizito, who traveled to Kampala in 1999 has played pool for the last 13 years. Over the years, he has encountered many challenges, many of which have helped him become a stronger man in life.

“Looking for what to eat was my primary target towards my early years in Kampala. That implied, i had to work so hard “, he says. It took the intervention of a close friend, Jonah Ddumba who introduced him to the game of pool.

Kizito has swam through the deep and shallow waters of life. “Pool has helped me earn a little money in open tournaments and get some new friends”, the Kampala open pool winner of 2006, who also clinched the national league with Scrap Yard Pool club in 2013 says.

Today, Kizito plays pool for the best team in the country (Scrap Yard, based in Kisenyi), and he was one of the key pillars that helped them win the league from the dominant Skin Samona Pool Club, that had won five consecutive titles.

“I am proud to play for Scrap Yard because i feel at home and we are one family”, Kizito, who also does Carpentry work signs off this time with a smile flashing across his face.
