On three occasions Nemostars have failed to replicate their 2013 performance that saw them play in every final of the tournament on the local scene winning eight of those. On top breaking continental barriers when they took part in the Africa Club Championship, a feat that they solely own

This season Nemostars has failed to defend three titles from last season, their own Nemo Duu, Makerere and Ndejje Open titles. Losing a fourth straight title on the road is not acceptable according to club captain George Aporu as they head east to defend the Jinja Open.

“We all don’t like what is going on and we need to begin winning some titles, starting with the Jinja Open,” Aporu said. “Am sure if we can get into the final, we can fight and win that game and defend that title,” Aporu added.

Nemostars leaves March 18 for the Africa Club Championship in Sousse Tunisia and Aporu believes success in Jinja will put the spirits in camp high. “It will boost our confidence ahead of Tunisia, no doubt about it, and as a result we will enjoy our trip.”

On the three titles Nemostars have lost, they have fell to Nkumba and Sky none of the latter two have been able to lift silverware, falling to Sport-S in those finals.  Sport-S has won the Makerere and Ndejje titles, making them clear favorites to also lift the Jinja Open.

KAVC women will also come into this one as defending champions, with the absence of Ndejje Elites who are in Kenya; the former will have Nkumba and Vision Volleyball Camp as the threats to their crown.
