Hassan Diba Banabana defeated Ongom Kizito Kasumali with a technical knockout in a professional boxing National Super Middle Weight fight. The event tagged ‘Night of Champions’ was held in the wee hours of last Sunday at Comprehensive Hotel in Natete.

The entirely cheered fight saw Banabana a Uganda Police Boxing Club product declared winner in 3rd round of the scheduled eight rounds fight.

“I am now looking forward to challenging more strong fighters than Ongom.” Banabana told Kawowo Sports shortly after emerging winner.

In other fights, Frank Kiwalabye also defeated Kenyan John Gitau with a Knockout in 2nd round of an International feather weight fight, while, Tanzanian Fred George was knocked out by Ugandan Med Kabona Ssebyala in 2nd round of an international middle weight fight.

Bible Nsubuga knocked out Ocho Nduga in the 3rd round of Super batam weight, whereas Charles won Med Bukenya with a technical knockout in 5th  round of an eight rounds welter weight fight.

In a light weight fight refereed by Mark Jackson Mugumya, Ali Kasango emerged winner over Hakim Waibale after the latter was defeated with 70-63, 76-72 and 80-70 points in eight rounds.

In the early kickoff fight, Robert Ssembooze scored 60-54, 60-54h and 60-54 points to emerge victor over Sula Katumba in a six round super feather weight fight.

The Night of Champions event was promoted by Balunya promotions in conjuction with FIST Knights boxing promotions.
