St Mary’s Kitende, Buddo SS, Standard High School Zzana, GreenLight Islamic and Kyadondo SS will represent Wakiso zone at the nationals which will be hosted in Ngora district come May 2025.

Boys:
- Finals: St Mary’s Kitende 2-0 Buddo SS
- Third place play-off: Standard High School Zzana 2-1 GreenLight Islamic
- 5th&6th Place play-off (Europa): Kyadondo SS 3-0 Madinah Islamic
Girls:
- Finals: St Noa Girls Zzana 1-0 Rines SS
The old-time schools’ football rivalry between St Mary’s Kitende and Buddo Secondary School lived up to the anticipated billing during the final of the 2025 USSSA Wakiso Zone football championship at the Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium.
St Mary’s Boarding School Kitende overcame Buddo Secondary School 2-0 in the finale that following an afternoon downpour.
Bahati Bitwiyiki and Santos Agok Manyiel scored the goals during the well-graced competitive duel.
Bitwiyiki opened the scoring in the 12th minute to ignite the Kitende fans in the gallery at the venue which also hosts the home matches for Uganda Premier League entity Wakiso Giants.
South Sudanese import Agok made it two with a simple tap inside the goal area deep in the second half to seal victory for St Mary’s Kitende.
Nkoola was the provider for Agok with a well-laid ball after a great run from the right flank.


We played the final with the right character. The players played gallantly with a mission at hand. I want to thank the players, my fellow coaches and school management. Focus and attention switches to preparations for the nationals coming up in Ngora next month.

The two finalists (St Mary’s Kitende and Buddo SS) will be joined by three other schools to represent Wakiso zone at the nationals due in Ngora come May 2025.
Standard High School Zzana, GreenLight Islamic and Kyadondo SS also made the grade.
During the third-place playoff, Standard High School Zzana overcame GreenLight Islamic 2-1 in the early kick off.
Abubakar Ssekamatte and Benon Lutaaya scored for Standard High School Zzana whilst GreenLight Islamic got their consolation through Elvis Kimuli.
The 5th and 6th place playoff between Kyadondo SS and Madinah Islamic was won by the former.
Junior “Iniesta” Odinga scored a beautiful hat-trick for Kyadondo SS. All three goals arrived in the second half.
Wakiso zone has Gayaza, Maganjo, Kasanje, Nsangi, Bweyogerere, Entebbe, Kitende, Aggrey, Nansana and Nandangira regions.

Meanwhile, in the girls’ football final, St Noa Girls Zzana edged Rines SS 1-0 with star player Slyvia Kabene on target.
Besides football, the Wakiso zone witnessed mouth-watering action in basketball, tennis, badminton, volleyball, netball (U-16), hockey and table tennis.
St Noa Girls Zzana won basketball (girls) with Buddo SS winning the boys’ event.
Elite High School Bwebajja won the 3X3 basketball event. Wampewo Ntake won volleyball and handball for either gender.
Table Tennis girls was clinched by Mbogo Mixed School. Ubuntu SS won the boys’ Table Tennis.
Kawanda SS won the badminton girls and Kinawa High School took the boys’ tournament.
Madinah Islamic won the netball U-16.
