Al Ahly, one of Africa’s representatives at the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup in the United States are officially out of the competition.

The Egyptian giants played out a thrilling 4-4 draw in their final group game at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Tuesday.

In a tops turvy game, Al Ahly looked destined for the win but conceded a late equalizer from Brazilian winger Pepe and thus the game ended in a draw.

Striker Wessam Abou Ali stole the headlines, scoring a hat trick for Al Ahly with the other goal coming from Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane.

FC Porto on the other hand scored through Rodrigo Mora, William Gomes, Samu Aghehowa and Pepe.

Both teams eventually crushed out of the tournament, ending with two points apiece in Group A.

In the same group, Inter Miami also played out a 2-2 draw with Palmeiras with the lattter coming two goals down in the final ten minutes.

Palmeiras led the group on a better goal difference ahead of Inter Miami who also had five points.

Al Ahly became the second African team to exit the tournament, joining Wydad AC from Morocco who still have to play their final game on Thursday.

The other two teams representing Africa; Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa and Esperance de Tunis are still battling to secure a knockout spot.
