Young Elephants Football Club from Nwoya district in Northern Uganda has become the fourth side to qualify to the second tier division of Uganda’s football, FUFA Big League.

This comes after Young Elephants’ 3-1 victory over West Nile region opposition Nebbi Central during the return leg of the promotional play-off on Sunday, 29th June 2025.

Nebbi Central had won the first leg 1-0 and carried a slim advantage coming to the second leg.

During the return leg, Young Elephants were ruthless, aggressive and brutal as they scored three goals with Nebbi Central only managing a consolation.

That said, Young Elephants made the FUFA Big League grade with a 3-2 on aggregate after two legs played.

Other promoted clubs:

Bunyaruguru United (Rubirizi district), CATDA (Kampala) and Iganga United (Iganga district) had earlier qualified.

Four clubs were demoted from the 2024-2025 FUFA Big League; Booma, MYDA, Busoga United and Arua Hill.

The new season (2025-2026) is ear-marked to kick off late September 2025.

  13. Bunyaruguru United Football Club (Western Region)

  1. The Petition Nebbi central Raised againat Young Elephant. Was really sense and true?.
    We believe the FUFA should make football real and great by clarifying who is registered and Licensed for a certain league and particular team for a season in the System

    Young Elephants were using 2 players who was not having license.
    The payers had never been in their line up for regional league games they had play and those player were from Big leagues
