Team Uganda remains on course at the historic inaugural edition of the 2025 Africa School Games in Algeria.
With a commanding 3-0 victory over the hosts Algeria in Table Tennis, Uganda smashed home with maximum points.
Imran Luwooza had a resounding 11-09, 11-07 and 11-08 set wins over Algerian opposition Abdelhine Merouane in the opener.

In Setif city, Ghana out-muscled Uganda 4-1 during a spirited display in Badminton of Gorup B.
Uganda will also face hosts Algeria and Tunisia in other duels of the same pool.
Algeria overcame Tunisia 5-0 in the one-sided opener.
Group A has Nigeria, Egypt and Benin. Nigeria humiliated Benin 5-0 during the all West African contest.
Monday has the knock-outs before Tuesday’s team relay finals.

Swimming:
The swimmers dive to the pool on Monday, 28th July 2025.
For 50M freestyle; it will be Paula Nabukeera and Abigail Mwagale.
Elijah Wamala and Joshua Mandre will compete in the 50M Butterfly category.
Mandre will also take part in the 100M Backstroke, alongside Kodet Tumusiime.
Tumusiime will also dive in for the 200M Breaststroke event.
Besides Badminton, Table Tennis and Swimming, Uganda also has strong representation in Football and Athletics.
Algerian cities of Annaba, Constantine, Setif and Skikda are hosting these games.
At least 3000 athletes from 44 African countries and more between the ages of 14 to 17 are taking part in 25 Olympic sport disciplines.
For starters, these games are organized by the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA).
