Top national swimmers, international schools and clubs are expected to grace the 13th Excel Insurance Independence Swimming gala slated for 4-5 October at the Kampala International School of Uganda in Bukoto.
The swimming gala is it’s 13th year and has been sponsored by leading insurance company Excel Insurance who expect the gala to go international next year when the Uganda Swimming Federation invites clubs from Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi.
“We are proud of being associated with Uganda Swimming Federation and this gala in particular it has grown bigger and bigger over the year’s and this year we expect a big entry according to the organisers,” David Walakira, the managing director of Excel Insurance said at the launch this morning. “Next year we intend to invite clubs from East Africa and that is what we are planning with the USF.”ent
Last year’s winners Kampala International School, will be the team in the spotlight with a entry that has Acacia, British School Kampala, Dolphins A, Dolphins B, Gayaza High School, Homesdallen, ISU, Makerere University, Ndejje University, Rockford, Seals, Sir Apollo Kagwa Schools, St Lawrence Schools and Water Crabs.
