Ismael Kiyonga rates Uganda Cranes players from Mandela National stadium, Namboole

Joel Mutakubwa (7/10):

Comfortable with a few shots he faced but above all, dealt with all crosses thrown into his area well. Named Cafonline man of the match.

Gavin Kizito (6/10):

A battling performance against Niger’s quick wingers.

Herbert Achai (6/10):

A torrid second half as he battled Niger’s attackers that consistently used his side.

Rogers Torach (6/10):

Rarely put a foot wrong and his decision making was decent.

Hilary Mukundane (6.5/10):

Tested a couple of times by Niger’s centre forwards. Hit and miss with the ball, mislaying long passes but made brilliant blocks to thwart crosses when his fullbacks were beaten.

Joel Sserunjogi (8/10):

Another decent display that ended with him scoring a rare goal that sealed the victory. Booked and will miss the South Africa encounter.

Karim Watambala (7/10):

A willing worker whose his press resulted into him winning possession in the lead up to the second goal.

Enock Ssebagala (6/10):

More comfortable on the ball in the previous two matches combining well with his partners. Subbed off after suffering an injury.

Jude Ssemugabi (5/10):

Yet again rarely got into any key attacking areas or cause any danger.

Reagan Mpande (7/10):

Continued to defy odds with another confident showing. Won the penalty that set the tone for Uganda’s victory.

Allan Okello (7/10):

Missed a penalty, scored on the rebound and created the second goal. Decent in possession.

Substitutes

Elvis Ngonde (5/10):

Comfortable and competent after replacing Ssebagala.

Patrick Kakande (5/10):

Made stuff happen with his skillful display but often lacked a last decent touch.
