URA FC and NEC FC settled for a draw on Thursday as they faced off in a closely contested game at Nakivubo Stadium.
NEC, who were playing their first game of the season, took the lead through new recruit Innocent Media but the Tax Collectors were able to find the equalizer from skipper Moses Aliro Okabo.
With NEC getting eliminated from CAF Confederation Cup by Nairobi United over the weekend, focus shifted to League action and the first game was a visit to URA.
The visitors made a good start to the game, taking the lead as early as the tenth minute through Media who tapped home from close range.
However, URA were able to level matters, five minutes after recess with Aliro heading home from Laban Tibiita’s corner kick delivery.
Neither of the two sides could find the winner in the remaining minutes, despite both getting scoring opportunities.
The result means URA register their second draw in as many games. They will return to action after the international break, taking on Express FC while NEC will be at home to Police FC.
