Promoted to the Kenya Premier League at the end of last season, Nairobi United won the FA Cup by beating giants Gor Mahia to earn a place on the continent where they have made history.
Nairobi United have reached the Caf Confederation Cup group stages on their debut after claiming a 7-6 win over Tunisian side Etoile Sahel in Tunis.
Following their 2-0 first leg win last week, the Kenyan side who eliminated Uganda’s NEC lost by the same margin to level on aggregate and the team won the penalty shootout.

From East Africa, they join Tanzania’s Singida Black Stars and Azam from Tanzania – all first timers in the group stages.
Other qualified teams are Stellenbosch and Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa, Zambia’s Zesco United, Djoliba AC of Mali, DR Congo’s Maniema, San Pedro of Ivory Coast and AS Otoho of Congo.
Double representation
Besides South Africa and Tanzania, Morocco (Wydad Casablanca & OC Safi), Algeria (USM Alger & CR Belouizdad) and Egypt (Al Masry & Zamalek).
The entire composition comes from only 14 nations across Africa.
Group stages draw
The CAF Interclub Group Stage Draw will be held at SuperSport studios in Johannesburg on 3 November 2025, live on CAF’s digital platforms.
The 16 teams will be split into four groups of four, with matches kicking off in November.
