Uganda’s top squash player Michael Kawooya, who will captain Uganda is leading a team of five players to the Kenya Open International Squash tournament that has swung into action at the Parklands Sports Club in Nairobi, Kenya.

“I will captain the team that is made up of me, Ian Rukunya Kajubu, Lawrence Matovu, Paul Kadoma, Brian Okumu and veteran Christopher Musaazi,” Kawooya stated in an e-mail. “We have been training very hard for this tournament and we shall return victorious.”

Uganda Squash Players have been regular participants at this international that attracts players Zambia, Uganda, Tanzania and the hosts Kenya. 2014 has been an average year for the Uganda Squash Rackets Association with the top players struggling to keep the game afloat with hardly any activity locally and few international tournaments.

The tournament runs from 1 December to 5 December in Nairobi, Kenya.
