Uganda Cranes did not conduct their scheduled training session on Saturday evening. According to the programme released by the team’s media officer, Stephen Mayamba, the team was supposed to train at 4:00 pm (local time).
Kawowo Sports was on ground, about 30 minutes before time and at around 4:10 pm, part of the coaching team, led by Paul Put, arrived at Stade Olympique Annex. However, there was no sight of the team bus.
The coaching staff went ahead to arrange the training gear on the pitch but a few minutes later, they shockingly withdrew everything, packed their bags, moved back to the waiting car and headed back to the team hotel.
Efforts to have a word from Coach Put yielded only a coded message with the gaffer indicating this disruption could affect his plans.
For now, there is no official communication from the team camp but Kawowo Sports is on ground to ascertain the reason why the team did not train and we shall bring you details in our subsequent reports.

FUFA are screwing up again.
First of all, this should never happen especially after Egypt 2019.
FUFA needs to be transparent with the players from the outset.
Secondly, players need to understand that these issues should be resolved way before crucial training and key games.
Did the players contact FUFA regarding the bonuses before going to Morocco?
Waiting until key training sessions and games, seriously undermines your mission!
Why even bother to show up if you are not going to be 100% focused?
Also, FUFA need to look at the character of the players invited to the national teams. The Cranes supposedly underwent a purge after that the 2019 AFCON. We lost ground on teams like Senegal but it was a blessing in disguise because some bad apples, however talented, were never going to win with their mindset.
We supposedly went back to the drawing board with more focused players. And now this.
What role did the players from Egypt 2019 AFCON invited back to the Cranes, play in all of this?
Is another country involved in raising chaos in the Cranes’ camp?
Why were the coaches and trainers blindsided? Is there no communication between the players and coaches?
FUFA and the players are sabotaging themselves.
Disband this team and send the CHAN team or youth players.
Then pay the players as scheduled.
