Former Sports Club Villa president Eng. Ben Immanuel Misagga joined the race for the club presidency for the term 2026-2030.
Eng. Missaga picked the forms through an agent to join the race that has four other people; including incumbent Hajji Omar Ahmed Hussein, Bulezi Kawuma, Denis Ssebugwawo Mbidde and Hajji Farouk Meywa.
Sports Club Villa electoral commission chairman Brian Kajubi addressed the media on Thursday evening at Kulambiro in Kampala about the electoral road map.
Kajubi, a sports lawyer has also previously handled the elections at the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC).
He vehemently promised a fair and transparent electoral process.
“The Sports Club Villa electoral commission shall comply with the electoral laws with fairness and transparence. We deliver a peaceful and democratic electoral process. We shall not bow to external forces. We shall be guided by the legal instruments, Sports Club Villa electoral code. We are competent and confident” Kajubi revealed.
Kajubi boldly outlined the four legal instruments that they will dwell upon as the Villa Members Trust Deed, Sports Club Villa regulations, the electoral code and all applicable principles of Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) and Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Governance.
Those who picked the forms are expected to return them by Saturday, 7th March 2026 with all the conditions fulfilled including payment of Ug.Shs 100,000,000 non refundable fee.
The deadline for registration of fans is on the 15th March 2026.
On 8th March 2026, it will be the vetting of candidates by the Trustees and the 10th March 2026 as the day for any complaints to be handled by the Sports Club Vila ADHOC Committee.
Thereafter the successful candidates will be declared on the same day ahead of the elections on Sunday, 22nd March 2026.
“Voting will be by secret ballot and we are yet to ascertain whether the fans in diaspora will be able to participate in the voting with the right mechanism” Kajubi added.
The Sports Club Villa electoral committee chaired by Kajubi also had Afande Fred Enanga, Brandon Kajura and Desire Mukisa.
Sports Club Villa is the record Uganda Premier League winners with 17 titles.
