FUFA has suspended seven match officials on Monday following incidents registered in the Uganda Premier League matches played recently.

The games highlighted include Buhimba United Saints vs Police, played on 17 February 2026, and the Kampala Derby between SC Villa and Express, played over the weekend.

In the game between Buhimba and Police, the match officials are faulted for allowing Buhimba’s Eric Nyonyintono to enter the field wearing a different jersey from the rest of his teammates.

The suspended officials include referee Musisi Henry, assistant referees Mbabali Samuel and Kinyera Fred, fourth official John Semakula, match assessor Hillary Kimbugwe and general coordinator Christopher Kugonza.

For the game between Villa and Express, first assistant referee Immaculate Ongiera is suspended for disallowing Hassan Mubiru’s goal for offside, yet the replays on television show that he was onside.

The aforementioned match officials will remain suspended pending a disciplinary hearing.

FUFA’s referee standards are hinged on three key aspects that include Fitness, Integrity and Performance.
