Uganda U17 Men’s National Team head coach Laryea Kingston has named a provisional squad of 23 players to commence preparations ahead of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
The team named will start the residential camp at FUFA Technical Centre – Njeru on Tuesday, with the local camp expected to last two weeks.
From Njeru, the team will fly to the Ivory Coast for another camp that will include friendlies before making their way to Morocco, where the final tournament is slated to take place from 25th April to 15th May 2026.
The squad is, however, subject to new additions and changes, with more players expected to join later on.
To qualify for the final tournament, Uganda reached the CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers but lost to eventual Champions Tanzania. Three nations will represent the region at the final tournament, with Ethiopia being the other.
It should be noted that the top 10 teams from the U17 AFCON will qualify for the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar as the CAF representatives.
