Mmamba Namakaka edge Ngeye in 2026 Bika Bya Baganda football opener

2026 Bika Bya Baganda Football:

Mmamba Namakaka (Gabunga) overcame Ngeye in the official opening match of the 2026 Bika Bya Baganda (Inter-Clans) football championship at the Muteesa II Wankulukuku stadium on Saturday, 2nd May.

Peter Kaye scored the all-important goal of the game, coming in the opening stanza.

Kaye curled home a beautiful free-kick on 33 minutes for the goal that was well defended.

In the second game played under floodlights, Musu (Edible rat) defeated Nte (Cow) 3-1.

Earlier in the day, there were processions by the different clans.

The opening day also witnessed in netball that will spill over to Sunday, 3rd May 2026.

In some of the netball games played, Nseneene lost 10-34 to Ngo, Mbogo overcame Musu 35-27, Ffumbe was in demolition mood; hammering Omutima Omuyanja 58-02; Ndiga humiliated Njovu 40-00, Olulyo Olulangira defeated Mpindi 41-23, Mmamba Kakobooza overcame Nvuma 45-12, Ndiga edged Mbogo 23-20 and Nkima smiled past Musu 36-24.

Ngabi Nsamba is the reigning champion in football as Nyonyi Nyange won the netball shield last season.
