Uganda Premier League outfit, Lugazi FC has confirmed parting way with Head coach Simon Peter Mugerwa and his assistant Robert Ssekweyema.
The Club confirmed the departure of the duo in a statement released on Monday evening.
“Lugazi Football Club has mutually parted company with Head Coach Simon Peter Mugerwa. Assistant Coach – Robert Sekweyama has also departed.” Reads part of the statement.
Mugerwa joined the Leaders on 25th December 2025, replacing Steven Bogere. He took charge of 19 League games helping them to beat relegation, finishing 13th on 25 points. In those 19 games, Lugazi won three, drawing six and losing ten.
The Club confirmed the search for the new coaching unit is on ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Lugazi FC have played two campaigns in the top flight League, surviving relegation narrowly on both occassions.
The target going into their third campaign will definitely be to perform better and finish in the top half of the table.
