England will take on Norway in the quarterfinals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup at Miami Gardens on 11th July 2026.
This is after a 10-man English side dumped out co-hosts Mexico 3-2 during the Round of 16 contest at the Mexico City Stadium.
Jude Bellingham struck a brace, and skipper Harry Kane added a penalty.
Julian Quinones and Raul Jimenez (penalty) got the goals for Mexico.
England’s Jarell Quansah was sent off in the 54th minute.
Kane has now scored 6 goals, one short of Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland.
Earlier, Norway eliminated the five-time record world champions Brazil after a 2-1 victory in East Rutherford.
Erling Braut Haaland scored a brace, both goals arriving in the second half.
Brazil missed a first-half penalty by Bruno Guimaraes Rodriguez Moura after Matheus Santos Carneiro da Cunha had been felled in the forbidden area.
Neymar Junior had the consolation for Brazil.
Meanwhile, the other determined quarter final has the African ambassadors Morocco and France on 9th July 2026 in Foxborough.
Morocco defeated co-hosts Canada 3-0 at the Houston Stadium in Houston, Texas, in the first Round of 16 match, with Azzedine Ounahi scoring a brace and Soufiane Rahimi netting a late winner.
During the second Round of 16 game, France edged Paraguay 1-0 in Philadelphia.
Captain Kylian Mbappe was on target for France with a well-struck penalty in the 69th minute.
