Ugandan football referee Shamirah Nabadda will take charge of the Group F game between debutants New Caledonia and China at the ongoing FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
The game slated for Monday (4PM EAT) will be played Arena Sosnowiec where Nabadda will serve as the centre referee, working alongside fellow Africans; Kone Fanta from Mali as the first assistant, Fides Bangurambona from Burundi as second assistant and Salina Mukasnaga from Rwanda as the Video Assistant Referee.
Alina Pesu from Romania will be the fourth official, while Angelos Evangelou (Greece) and Enzo Boven will work as the Assistant VAR and Replay operator respectively.
Nabadda has seen her career grow over the years, attracting the attention of both CAF and FIFA for major football tournaments.
She is fresh from the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations In Morocco, her second time to officiate at the tournament having made her debut at the 2024 edition.
Nabadda who was named the 2025 CAF African Female Referee of the Year has also officiated in the CAF Women’s Champions League.
The other notable tournaments for her include; the 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Dominican Republic, the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocc0, the 2024 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda and the Paris 2025 Olympics.
