Buganda Masaza Cup 2026:
Semi-finals (1st Legs) – 27th September:
- Kyaggwe Vs Bugerere – Bishops SS playgrounds, Mukono
- Gomba Vs Butambala – Kabulasoke PTC grounds
The first legs of the 2026 Buganda Masaza Cup will be played on Sunday, 27th September in Mukono and Gomba districts.
Kyaggwe hosts Bugerere at the Bishops S.S playgrounds in Mukono.
Record winners Gomba will host Butambala at the Kabulasoke PTC playgrounds.
Match officials:
Julius Kasibante will be the match official for the Gomba – Butambala game. Azed Mironso and Ivan Lubwama are the first and second assistants respectively.
Huzairu Kayima is the fourth official and Farouk Kigongo as the referee assessor.
In Mukono, Ismael Mugisha will be the center referee. Samuel Mbabali is first assistant whilst Badru Ssebyatika is second assistant.
Edward Ssekajugo will be the fourth official. Isa Masembe is the referee assessor.
How they progressed:
Gomba progressed 3-1 on aggregate over Buddu after two legs.
While Gomba won the first leg convincingly 3-0 at Kabulasoke PTC playground, Buddu triumphed in the subsequent leg at the Kitovu sports arena in Masaka city.
Kyaggwe ejected Mawogola 4-2 on aggregate. Kyaggwe won the second leg at their Bishops SS Mukono fortress 3-1.
Bugerere eliminated Kyaddondo 5-4 in post match penalties after the contest was tied 1-all.
Butambala also needed a post match penalty win, succeeding 4-2 over Busujju.
Of all the semi-finalists, Gomba is the only team to have won the championship, boasting of an enviable five titles.
Butambala, Kyaggwe and Bugerere are yet to win any title.
Buweekula are the reigning champions from the 2025 edition.
