Build Up Result:
- St Marys’ Kitende 3-1 Bright Stars F.C
2015 National Schools’ football champions, St Marys’ Boarding secondary school, Kitende overcame Uganda Premier League outfit, Bright Stars 3-1 in a pre-season build up game played at the school play ground in Kitende.
The students who are preparing for upcoming East African Schools’ football title defence in Guye city, Rwanda tested the premier league side to the limit.
Towering forward Alfred Leku and Uganda U-17 striker, Shaban ‘Gaggason’ Muhammed’s brace downed the Kawempe based side whose consolation came from a one, Augustine, a Nigerian national on trials with the team with the hope of being recruited for the new season.
For the loss, Bright Stars were subjected to their first loss in the pre-season period after victories over Erimu F.C (4-1), Stegota F.C (2-1), Matugga F.C (3-0) and the 2 all drawn with Express Sports club last week.
St Marys’ Kitende had lost 4-0 in the opening build up fixture against Vipers Sports in an earlier fixture played.
They are grouped in Pool A along with another Uganda school, St. Joseph College, Laibi. Passenga High School from Kenya, LT Gitega from Burundi, Muhanga TC of Rwanda and Makongo from Tanzania are the other group teams.
