Uganda Chess Federation is to host two FIDE Seminars to be held concurrently from August 28-31, 2015 at Sojovalo Hotel in Rubaga, Kampala.

The two Seminars are the Trainers Seminar and International Organisers’ Seminar to be conducted by FIDE Vice President, Beatriz Marinello.

Marinello, who is also the chairperson of FIDE’s Social Action Commission is already in the country. A total of 60 local and regional participants from Burundi, Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda are lined up to attend both Seminars with each of the Seminars attracting 30 participants.

The International Organisers Seminar will be conducted in the morning hours from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm while the Trainers’ Seminar will be conducted from 5 pm to 9 pm. The two end with an examination to be held on Monday 31 August 2015.

Successful candidates in the trainers Seminar will attain either Development Instructor (DI) or National Instructor (NI) titles while the IO Seminar participants eventually attain the International Organiser (IO) title after passing the mandatory exam and completing norm requirements.

The two Seminars are expected to enhance capacity building. FIDE, the world’s Chess governing body is fully sponsoring the Seminars and Uganda Chess Federation is highly grateful for this noble support.
